Spilia village takes its name from the nearby cave where St Gerasimos, the patron saint of Kefalonia, lived as a hermit several centuries ago. Nowadays, island accommodation is far more comfortable! Imagine a vivid green lawn contrasting with the deep blue of the Ionian Sea and a large infinity pool disappearing into an even bluer horizon and you have an idea of the gorgeous scene that awaits you at this splendid property which provides the best in modern amenities, both inside and out. During the day the summer haze often seems to make the sparkling waters of Koutavos Bay disappear into the horizon while the evening sunsets are equally splendid and best enjoyed with cocktails and a barbecue which will surely linger on through clear starlit nights.
Even with lovely beaches close by, you may well find that the unrivalled views from the pool terrace and balconies at this immaculately presented house will prevent you straying far.
The open plan living/dining room and kitchen are well appointed and beautifully decorated with sliding glass doors leading out to the pool area. All three bedrooms enjoy a distinctive and tasteful dandeacute;cor enriched with either a chocolate brown or black and white theme. The ground floor twin bedroom has a private terrace and shower room conveniently alongside while upstairs both bedrooms have en suite bathrooms and their own private balconies.
The nearest super sandy beaches are Makris Yialos (1.7km) and the tiny sandy cove of Gradakia (2.3km). Even closer to home, there is a supermarket just 1km away and it is well worth spending some time exploring the capital when it is so easy to get to: Argostoli (1.5 km) is a bubbly town with a large central piazza that becomes the focus of activity in the evenings. In and around the square are an impressive theatre and various majestic buildings with historical features reflecting the islanders' rich, fascinating history. All amenities including an extensive choice of local restaurants, cafes and bars are found in the surrounding streets.
The largest Ionian island, Kefalonia's impressive mountain range provides the backdrop to a wealth of villages and hamlets just begging to be discovered.
